Friday 1 February 2008 – WORKSHOP DAY 1
Today we will meet in a conference room for an introduction
by APA leader and founder Richard Emmanuel and go over the details
of the trip Itinerary. We will show a video presentation of
conceptual ideas for photography in Venice and have a chance
to discover individual goals.
With a private model we head outdoors to photograph in the hidden
laneways of this most photogenic city. We will move from one
location to the next while offering different techniques to
insure that you are getting quality photos and provide you with
full support to achieve your photography goals. During this
shot we will incorporate what to look for to create outstanding
photographs with unique lighting techniques, black & white
photos and location portraiture.
Saturday 2 February 2008 – WORKSHOP DAY 2
Being up extra early amongst the stillness of the Venetian canals
is a mystical experience not to be missed. The goal this morning
is to get to our favourite spot before the sun rises. Grab the
tripod, cable release, lenses and of course, an espresso and
go. The earlier you arrive at the location, the more practice
shots we can get in as the sun begins to rise. This way you
won’t miss the peak moment that captures the climax of
the colour and light. We recommend you bring a tripod and cable
releases to ensure shake-free shots during the sunrise over
Venice.
In the afternoon we will meet with our private model for some
incredible photo opportunities among the backdrop of this magical
city. Here we look at how to pose a model for best results and
incorporate the background into a winning photograph.
Sunday 3 February 2008 – WORKSHOP DAY 3
Today we head to the vibrantly beautiful island of Burano. Its
main port is a fishing village filled with pastel colored homes.
Burano is a great place to work on techniques with a model to
help workshop participants become better directors of the total
scene. It also serves as a stunning backdrop for village photography
and capturing artistic reflections of the colored houses on
the water. This day will give you many added photographs to
your photography collection. The day concludes with an image
review session of the previous day's work
Monday 4 February 2008 – WORKSHOP DAY 4
On our last day in Venice we will explore the Carnival party
with numerous costumes to photograph. We will cover tips and
techniques on how to photograph in public spaces. In late afternoon
we will head to a sweet spot for some sunset pictures that are
a real treat to photograph.
On your last night, we will say goodbye to Venice at a farewell
dinner.
Tuesday 5 February 2008 – DEPARTURE DAY
On your day of departure we will ensure that you have all the
up to date information for your flight home. We will confirm
all your details including a transportation ticket to the airport
with your flight information.
